The IPS have been very aware that the COVID situation over the last 2 years has somewhat thwarted our ability to run our popular Audio Van Boot Sales. We have set dates so many times, only to be scuppered by government restrictions, or the general direction of the pandemic. We now feel that things are calming down somewhat, and we know that many people have a desire to buy or sell some audio kit, so we are going to try and go for it.
To make the event as flexible as possible, we have hired the events hall at the Brentham Club in Ealing, which has step free access from the car park. Covid measures permitting we will allow sellers to set up in the hall (warmer, drier, more human), but if anyone has too much stuff, or feels uncomfortable to be in the indoor venue, they can set up in the car park only a few steps away.
The Club cafe will be open to sell delights that might include bacon and/or bread products, teas, coffees etc….. We are also hoping to be able to use the Club’s licensed bar from midday for an hour or two, should you need to celebrate your sales/purchases with an alcoholic beverage (non alcoholic alternatives also available). There could even be some sound related banter to be had ;-)
Buyers can come for free, but we charge sellers £10 for the pleasure of attending (the IPS are underwriting the cost of the venue). Non IPS members who wish to sell will be charged £20.
In light of the easing of Covid 19 restrictions in England, we will now NOT be insisting on proof of vaccination or a lateral flow test but we do encourage attendees to wear a face covering inside the venue and of course not to attend if showing symptoms.
We will start a thread on the IPS Workplace Chat Forum nearer the time, where people who are intending to sell kit can list what they are planning to bring.
